On May 9, 2024, the Plainview Board of Education declared a vacancy.

The Board of Education of Kiowa County RE-2 - Plainview School District is accepting applications from persons interested in serving on the Board of Education from the date of appointment on June 13, 2024 until the next regular biennial school election in November 2025. To be eligible for appointment, each candidate must be a registered elector of the school district for at least twelve consecutive months prior to the date of appointment.

Any person who meets the qualifications and who desires to be considered for the appointment is invited to file a written notice of such intention with the secretary of the Board of Education by June 12, 2024 at 4 pm at 13997 County Rd 71, Sheridan Lake, CO 81071. The Board will interview prospective candidates on June 13, 2024 at a public meeting.

Notice is hereby given that a proposed budget has been submitted to the Board of Education of Plainview School District RE-2 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024 and has been filed in the office of the superintendent where it is available for public inspection. Such proposed budget will be considered for adoption at a regular board meeting of the Board of Education of said District on June 13, 2024 at 6:00 PM.

Any person paying school taxes in said district may at any time prior to the final adoption of the budget file or register his objections thereto.
